A Roof Renovation Program for the family of Ni Ketut Rauh in Banjar Putung, Desa Duda Timur, Selat, Karangasem
On 13 August we visited Ni Ketut Rauh; a needy widow with a hard-working child in Banjar Putung, Desa Duda Timur, Kecamatan Selat, Kabupaten Karangasem to inspect the results of the renovation of the roof of her house that had been completed the previous day.
The following people were present:
- An official from Banjar Putung, Selat, Karangasem; I Made Puja Supartika (085237077926)
- The beneficiaries of the renovation ; Ni Ketut Rauh with her child
- The Team from BCC; Fedy Romamti, Vinna Moeljo, Kadek Krisniari, I Dewa Gede Yusub Teja
The roof renovation program involved the following steps:
- Replacing the roof and the timber supports which were rotten – the roof leaked
- Replacing a door which had rotted
- Installing a pair of windows
- Installing a ceiling in the bedroom
- Providing a bed where previously there was none
- Concreting the floor* – the old floor was made of earth
*When we visited, the work on the floor had not been carried out
Total cost of the renovation: 7 million Rupiah

Below is a timeline for the implementation of the renovation program:
- 15 July 2016; we conducted a survey of the house
- 3 August 2016; we transferred 7 million Rupiah given by the donors listed above to the bank account of an official from Banjar Putung, Selat, Karangasem; namely I Made Puja Supartika (085237077926) – proof of transfer is attached
- 4 August 2016; the renovation began
- 8 August 2016; the project was completed
- 13 August 2016; we visited the house to inspect the renovation work
