Because of Covid-19, the Bali government has closed all schools since April 2020. The children now study from home, so we have been unable to provide breakfast for the children at school since this time. Instead, we provided breakfast for the children at BCC Hub twice a week, and we also helped distribute rice and milk to them.
During this “lockdown,” it’s been suggested that we all stay at home. So unfortunately, we cannot perform any of our usual activities, including providing the healthy school breakfast assistance. We have, however, tried our best to remain active and helpful in the community during this difficult time by utilizing local volunteers to safely distribute necessities.
Our volunteers, together with medical officers, also held health checks and provided vitamins and medicines to 100 children from SDN 5 Besakih. On this occasion the children were also given education about nutrition and health and received milk assistance, healthy meals, and a package of toiletries and books. The children were also entertained with various games, invited to sing, and participate in coloring competitions with various attractive prizes. All activities are carried out following prescribed health protocols to fight the spread of Covid-19.
The following are testimonials and thank-you note we received from the children and their parents, village chiefs and officers for the given assistance.
