She is treated by her younger sister and nephew.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8545\" src=\"http:\/\/balicaringcommunity.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Niang-Korta\/BESAR.jpg\" alt=\"BIG\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Niang Korta lives in a family compound with her two younger siblings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sang Ayu Putu Suri; never married<\/li>\n<li>Sang Putu Sura and family, i.e. children and grandchildren<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Unlike her two younger siblings who each live in their own house in the compound, Niang Korta does not have a house but lives in a laneway behind the house of one of her younger siblings. The laneway has a crudely constructed roof which provides some shelter from sun and rain.\u00a0 The space is very small, measuring roughly 1.5 x 2 metres, and is filled with items from her scavenging activities.\u00a0 There is no space a mattress and she sleeps on a pile of items she has scavenged on the streets of Klungkung.\u00a0 In the wet season, the room would certainly leak or rain would enter.\u00a0 There is no electricity or lighting.<\/p>\n<p>Source of income; Niang Korta works as a scavenger.\u00a0 \u201cIn 10 days I can sell the things I collect for 20,000 Rupiah\u201d, she said.\u00a0 Fortunately, she gets a rice assistance quota from the Government every month.\u00a0 \u201cIf I can\u2019t buy meat, it\u2019s enough for me to just eat steamed rice\u201d she said while pointing at some leftover steamed rice.<\/p>\n<p>You can support this woman either by directly providing her basic daily necessities (rice, sugar, oil, clothing, etc.), by providing money for her to
