- I Ketut Nyanding: collects coconuts by climbing the trees and receives 40,000 Rupiah per day and works about 10 days per month.
- His wife, Ni Komang Ariati: makes small religious offerings for sale while looking after the children at home. Assisted by her children, she receives about 50,000 Rupiah every two weeks or 100,000 Rupiah per month.
- For some additional income, they look after 2 cows belonging to their neighbor.
The condition of their house: there is one building consisting of a single room where all 7 sleep. There is a one bed with no mattress. Some of the family sleep on the bed while others sleep on the floor on pieces of carpet and plastic. The eldest child sometimes sleeps at his grandparents’ house to avoid overcrowding. The bedroom has no door. The verandah is used as the kitchen.

- The walls are woven bamboo with holes covered with pieces of cloth and plastic
- The roof is asbestos cement sheeting
- There is no mattress
- There is electricity
- There is no running water – they buy water from a neighbor
- They own the land where they live

On January 17, 2022, we visited Ketut Nyanding at his house. Some updates are as follows:
