On Friday, July 18, 2014, we visited the scavengers’ village at the landfills of Suwung, Pesanggaran, South Denpasar. From the local information, there are about 500 poor scavenger families living in the huts around the landfills. Most of the people came from Probolinggo, East Java and Nusa Penida.

During this first visit, we met 20 poor families and listed the other families for our next visit. Here is the list of the 20 families:
