Panti Asuhan Dharma Widya Kumara and Pasraman Gurukula Bangli are two organizations coordinated by Yayasan Pasraman Gurukula Bangli, which are located in Kubu District, the northern side of Bangli capital city, Bangli Regency. Yayasan Pasraman Gurukula is a social organization giving a free of charge education for poor and abandoned children.
Since being established at 2005 and re-operated at 2006, Yayasan Gurukula Bangli has been coordinating four public schools, including play group and kindergarten with 53 students, junior high school with 62 students, senior high school with 56 students, and 8 undergraduate students considered as anak Pasraman bina lanjutan. 179 students are attending their school at Pasraman Gurukula, and 126 students are living at Asrama Pasraman Gurukula with no charge at education, health, foods, school uniforms, and school facilities.
Pasraman Gurukula also applies national curriculum for their schools, like the other pulic schools in Indonesia. The formal school begins at 07.30-13.00 WITA, then continued with informal school using the Pasraman’s curriculum. The Pasraman Gurukula’s difference from the other public schools is the junior and senior high schools students must live at the dormitories but without any charge.
