Ketut Kaler lives alone in his house, he is not married. When we visited him, he was suffering from rheumatism, his legs were swollen. He can only sit on his bed, he cannot stand or walk. “Recently, my rheumatism and gout often recur,” he said.
The condition of his left eye is completely blind, his right eye is also blurry, probably due to cataract. In such conditions, Ketut Kaler lives alone with no one to take care of him, buy medicine/food, etc.
Source of income:
- Ketut Kaler works as a farmer, taking care of his neighbour’s snakefruit garden. The harvest season for snakefruit is about once every 6 months. During the harvest season, he can sell snakefruit for Rp. 50,000 in 2 weeks.
- He also grows several chickens.
Condition of the house: the location of his house is in the middle of the snakefruit garden, we have to walk about 150-200 meters.
