Update on July 2nd, 2016; Komang Wijana received housing assistance from BCC donors. Komang Wijana also received pillow and bed donation.

I Komang Wijana and his wife have 3 children, as follows:

  1. 1st child; died after being born prematurely
  2. 2nd child; Ni Kadek Naesilawati (female / 6½ / has not started school)
  3. 3rd child; I Komang Agus Antara (male / 18 months)

Source of income:

  • Komang Wijana: works as a labourer collecting coconuts. He gets 100,000 Rupiah for a day’s work but only works about 10 days each month.
  • Istrinya Ni Nengah Juniari: works making small religious offerings for sale while looking after her children at home. She makes about 100 rolls of the offerings each month and receives 12,000 Rupiah for each roll.
  • To get some extra money, they look after 1 cow (which is not theirs).

The state of their dwelling: there is only one room; the bed and the kitchen are in this one room. All four members of the family share the same bed. There is a mattress.

  • The floor is made of compacted earth
  • The walls are woven bamboo 
  • The roof is tiled
  • There is electricity
  • There is no running water; they have to go to the river to get water

  • Providing a bicycle for the children
  • Buying a cow or a pig
  • Providing funds for the construction of a basic dwelling
