Update on 6 December 2015; Made Jatu received housing assistance from Bali provincial government.
Update on 15 November 2021; Made Jatu family’s condition is quite good. We posted their recent photos at the bottom of this page.
Made Jatu and his wife Ni Wayan Jastini had 3 children, the eldest of whom died, leaving the following 2 children:
- Ni Made Jeni (female / class 4 in Primary School)
- Ni Komang Jesika (female / 3)
The condition of their house: the floor is made of compacted earth, the walls are of woven bamboo and the roof is bamboo. There is only one structure, inside which there is a kitchen and two beds for the 4 members of the family.
To fulfill their everyday needs, Made Jatu and his wife work as casual labourers; cutting bamboo, laboring in rice fields, etc. depending on what work is available. They also tend a cow belonging to their neighbor.
Your assistance could be in the form of: supplying their basic food needs, providing money for their everyday needs and school fees, or financial support for them to build a modest dwelling.
