Muhammadiyah Orphanage is set in two location; girls’ dormitory at Jl. Pulau Nias No. 2, and boys dormitory at Jl. Raya Negara – Gilimanuk, Banyubiru Village. We were directed to visit the girls’ dormitory, situated right in front of the Great Mosque of the town of Negara. The boys were then asked to come to the girls’ dormitory to meet us.
The girls’ dormitory can accommodate 18 children. These children came from poor families, waifs, or orphans, who mostly come from around Jembrana area. All living expenses, including children’s school fee start from elementary school to high school are covered by the orphanage. The fund prominently comes from the donors. Government’s assistance, under the Department of Social Service, is Rp. 800.000 per year per child for 21 children. For foster excel children, the orphanage usually tries to find them foster parents so that they can continue their education to the college.
The operation of the Muhammadiyah Orphanage is under the supervision of Muhammadiyah regional leader of Jembrana area.
Your donation to Muhammadiyah Orphanage can be in form of:
- Foods, such as: rice, meats, fishes, vegetables, fruits, cooking oils, and spices.
- Bathing and washing equipments, such as: detergent, soaps, tooth pastes, tooth brushes, shampo0s, and dish soaps.
- School fee (school fees for each semester, facilities fees, uniforms, books, exam fees), and operational fees of the orphanage, including: electricity, water, and so forth.
