We provide milk assistance to children who really need it; they are malnourished children, orphans, and children from underprivileged families. They are not in one school or even one village, but in several villages in Karangasem Regency (East Bali) and Buleleng Regency (West Bali).
Our main challenge is distributing the milk assistance to the children, who are spread across several villages in two regencies. Some children live in remote areas. Another challenge is gathering the children to join our nutrition education and health check-ups.
We are so grateful to have local volunteers in the villages who distribute the milk assistance to the children. The chiefs of villages and their staff are also very helpful in providing us with the latest data on the children who need milk assistance and in gathering the children to join our nutrition education and health check-ups.
Overall, we’ve been able to provide milk assistance to underprivileged children in East and West Bali, as well as provide valuable education about nutrition to these same children so that they can feel empowered to take charge of their health moving forward. The nutrition of milk and nutrition education have far-reaching implications across the community. Since children have improved energy levels and overall nutrition, they are better able to assist their families, succeed in school, and therefore, contribute to a better society in the long-term.
