Wayan Arnata and his wife has three children:
1st child: Wayan Sudiarta (Male/12 years old/Year 5)
2nd child: Kadek Sudiartika (Male/10 years old/Year 4)
3rd child: Komang Ari Dwiguna (Male/4 years old/not going to school yet)
The distance of the 1st child’s school and 2nd child school is about 500 meters, they go to school by foot.
Source of income:
Wayan Arnata and his wife work as a farm worker, they plant rice or secondary crops. When the harvest time comes (every 3-4 months), they could earn Rp. 200.000 – 500.000. If there is a job at material shop nearby their house – they will be called to work there as a casual labour : to carry the sand, cement, wood etc with wage of Rp. 30.000 per day for 2 person, they could work at the material shop 1-3 times in a week.
To gain extra income, they also raise 3 cows and 2 pigs.
They haven’t received the Rice for the poor program from the government.
Living Cost:
School tuition is free. They pay uniform fee and book fee once in a year or whenever necessary.
Pocket money for the kids: Rp. 5.000 per child per day.
House condition: quite concerning, the woods that holding the ceiling are old, the ceiling is falling down, the roof is leaking everywhere, door and window are broken, old building.
Bedroom: 3; 2 bedroom could not be used due to leaking, 1 bedroom used by the mother, everyone else sleeping at the living room on a plastic carpet without bed.
