I Wayan Karya, the son of Ni Made Karya, could only lay on his bed. 10 years ago when Wayan Karya fell from the roof at the time he worked as construction labor, since he wasn’t treated properly, Wayan Karya could not move his body at all.
To fulfill his daily needs, Wayan Karya weaved ATE everyday; creating various handy crafts made from ate tree which can be found around his house, he did all the activities while being on his bed.
I Wayan Karya lived with his wife who also weaved ATE, while his two daughter were married.
